2013 Arundel Farm Estate, Shiraz

James Halliday (Wine Critic) Score 95

Full, bright crimson-purple; the bouquet is typical cool climate shiraz, with spice, pepper and licorice together with black cherry fruit, but the power and intensity of the palate is way above expectations, fine-grained tannins woven through the fruit flavours adding complexity and excellent length. Will cruise past 2030.

James Halliday (Wine Critic) Score 94

Deep crimson-purple; an extremely concentrated and powerful wine, aromas and flavours of deep black fruits, licorice and black pepper flanked by substantial tannins. Needs time, but has the balance to support cellaring.

Mark Matthews (Wine Maker)

Deep brilliant garnet in colour, the 2012 Shiraz has generous aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and red and black plums. The palate is immensely dense and chewy with firm grippy tannins and fresh balanced acidity giving this wine a serious long term posture. Intriguing now, this wine will cellar for 5 to 10 years.

2012 Arundel Farm Estate, Viognier

viognier2012Mark Matthews (Wine Maker)

Light to mid straw with a green tinge, this Viognier is a ripe style with integrated oak and lees characters. The nose has lifted aromas of citrus, almond and apricot blossom with interwoven aromas of fresh and tinned apricots and vanilla. The palate is generous with concentrated fruit giving the wine great length.
